Swami Tejomayananda

Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda is an outstanding teacher of Vedanta, with a profound depth beneath his simplicity and humility. He has a simple conviction – to fortify, strengthen and actualise the Vision of his Guru. He is the current Head of Chinmaya Mission.

He was born in a cultured Maharashtrian family based in Madhya pradesh on 30th June 1950. His father was an advocate and held in high respect. As a student he took keen interest in music, drama and several co-curricular activities. Sudhakar Kaitwade (as he was previously called) graduated from physics to metaphysics when he joined Sandeepany Sadhanalaya Mumbai as a student brahmachari in 1970.

He has served as the Acharya at the Mission’s Sandeepanies (Vedanta Gurukulas) in India and the US. Many of his students are well known Vedanta teachers today.

Fluent in English, Hindi, Marathi and Sanskrit, Swamiji has written commentaries on many Vedantic texts and authored original compositions as well. He travels around the world giving discourses. His devotion for the Lord holds his audiences in rapture. He shares a child’s love of sports and knowledge, a youth’s penchant for reason and logic and an adult’s capacity for mature thinking. With his enduring sense of humor and repartee, he builds a quick rapport with his audience.

On the mahasamadhi of pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda in August 1993, pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda became the head of the Chinmaya Mission. The Mission has blossomed and spread its fragrance far and wide under his tender loving care and guidance.

With the abounding grace and blessings of his Guru and God, he handles all the responsibilities and challenges that his position entails with maturity and grace.It is only natural that innumerable devotees have actually experienced and will continue to experience the divine grace of pujya Swami Chinmayananda flowing through his sishya and successor pujya Swami Tejomayananda.
