Chinmaya Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School, Nagapattinam students constructed a 130mm / 5″ Newtonian Multi-coated Reflector mounted on a Bracket Alt-Az custom mount telescope on the June 16 and 17 2023.
Building an astronomical telescope is no easy task. Chinmaya Vidyalaya Nagapattinam students’ ability to conceptualise, plan, and execute such a complicated undertaking indicates their great astronomical talents and potential. Their collaborative efforts, mutual support, and shared passion have surely played an important role in bringing this project to reality. They have not only gained vital practical knowledge by successfully building an astronomical telescope, but they have also nurtured their curiosity and lit a spark for further exploration.
